Angela Dawn Thurman – is the Virginia Bluegrass, Country Music Association 2013 winner and the North American Country Music Association 2013 rising star winner. She sings many music styles including R&B, Classic Rock, Country, Jazz, and Blues.
2:00 – 3:00 pm
Jevonte Lyons began singing his freshman year in high school. And, last year, at the age of 17, he was named the overall winner in Kingsport Idol.

Hales Chapel United Methodist Church is located on 212 Moccasin Street in Gate City, VA.
3:30 PM – 6:30 PM
There will be Free Horse and Carriage Rides! Town Hall, 156 East Jackson Street, will be the pick-up location. Experience beautiful downtown Gate City in a Horse & Carriage!!! You don’t want to miss this experience!
4:00 PM and 4:15 PM
Jenkins School of Dance has been proudly bringing the dance arts to Scott County and surrounding areas since 1982. They offer training in ballet, tap, jazz and acrobatics for dancers ages 3 and up.
4:30 – 5:30 pm
RailRoad Angels consist of sisters Cheridan and Lexus Shipley. They have been singing together forever but just started their band in the middle of 2011. Lexus sings most of the lead and is 21 years old, Cheridan is 16 and sings harmony and plays the bass and guitar. They sing a wide variety of music from traditional country and bluegrass to New country.
5:30 – 6:30 pm
Lucy Rose George is a 16-year-old singer, songwriter, and musician from Kingsport, TN. Singing has taken her as far west as Phoenix AZ, as far east as Syros, Greece, north to Minneapolis, MN, and south to Jacksonville FL. Lucy plays the guitar, keyboard, bass, ukulele, banjo and drums. She enjoys all genres of music including classical, country, bluegrass, gospel and pop. In 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013, Lucy was invited to sing with the Organization of Kodaly Educators’ National Honor Choir. In 2012, 2013, and 2014, she sang with American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) Honors Choir. Virginia Bluegrass Gospel Country Music Association (VBGCMA) named her Most Promising Country Female Vocalist and Most Promising Duo in 2011 in the age group 10-12. She won the Bluegrass Female Vocalist in 2013 for VBGCMA and in 2014 Lucy won the North American Country Music Association International (NACMAI) award for Bluegrass Female Vocalist in the age group 13-16. In 2015, Lucy won Entertainer of the Year in Bluegrass and Horizon Female Vocalist.
Mayor Frances Perry will host the Tree Lighting Ceremony will be in front of the Town Hall on 156 East Jackson Street.
The Gate City Christmas Parade is hosted by the Gate City Fire Department. The parade will have several marching bands including the Gate City High School Marching Band, floats, and many holiday surprises!
This year’s Grand Marshall is Mr. Tommy Quillen. Mr. Quillen is the owner of Quillin Hardware that was founded in 1903.
